About

Built for lifters who are done guessing.

SetPR started as a spreadsheet, then a stubborn opinion about what a training app should be, and eventually an app. It's made by one person who lifts and who got tired of choosing between a beautiful logger with no brain and a coaching platform with no taste.

The story

Every app knew what I lifted. None of them knew what I should lift next.

That was the whole gap. The tracking apps were immaculate filing cabinets: beautiful charts of decisions I'd already made badly. The coaching apps had opinions, but they arrived as a twelve-week PDF that stopped being true the first week life interfered.

So SetPR was built the other way round. The plan is the product, and the log is what the plan learns from. Miss a session and the week reshapes. Stall on a lift and something changes. Eat 1,400 calories for five days and the coach can see that too, because the nutrition isn't in a different app.

It's made by one person, which shows up in ways I'd defend: there's no growth team adding a social feed, no roadmap driven by what demos well, and every support email is answered by the person who wrote the bug. It also shows up in ways I wouldn't pick: it's iPhone only, and it will be for a while.

What it is, though, is finished in the places that matter. The logging screen is fast. The coach's arithmetic is real. The food data comes from a laboratory. That was the bar.

What it stands on

Four things I’m not moving on.

01

A number or it didn't happen

Streaks, badges and confetti are a way of feeling like you progressed. The only honest measure is whether the weight went up, the reps went up, or the work got easier. Everything in SetPR points back at that.

02

The model reasons, the code calculates

AI is extraordinary at understanding a messy human situation and unreliable at arithmetic. So the coach is allowed to think about your training, and never allowed to invent a number. Every weight and progression is computed deterministically.

03

Nothing you have to fight

You're between sets, your hands are chalky, and you have ninety seconds. That's the design constraint the logging screen was built against, and it's why it lost every feature that didn't survive it.

04

Priced like software, not like a gym

$3.99 a month. No coaching upsell, no supplement funnel, no annual plan that's really a lock-in. Subscribe on the web and it's cheaper still, because the App Store takes its cut and you shouldn't have to pay for that.

Say hello

One person reads every email.

Bugs, feature requests, or a question about whether this is right for you. It all comes to me.
